INJURIES: People were treated for smoke inhalation after fire in Marratxi

TEN people suffered smoke inhalation and one has sustained mild injuries in a fire at two warehouses on the industrial estate in Marratxí. 
The fire started at around 8.15 am on Monday morning in the warehouse belonging to La Deliciosa Pans Semar bakery and then spread to the unit next door, owned by La Caixa, located near the offices of the Local Police of Marratxí. 
The workers in the warehouse initially tried to put the fire out themselves but as it spread so quickly were unable to control it. Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames whilst the local police cordoned off the surrounding area. 
Smoke could be seen billowing from the scene from several kilometres away which caused alarm for many of the local residents. 
The injured were taken away for treatment in hospital and others were treated for anxiety by paramedics at the scene. 
The flamewere eventually controlled by firefighters and an investigation will now take place to find out what caused the fire.
