TECHNOLOGY businesses are being invited to Axarquia to benefit from highly-skilled graduates in the area.
A meeting took place on Monday 9 September between the Local Council of Motril and the University of Granada in an effort to encourage new technological projects in the agricultural, tourism and maritime sectors.
The mayoress of Motril, Luisa García Chamorro held the meeting with the president of the Social Council of the University of Granada (UGR), Gregorio Vicente Jiménez López and a number of representatives to discuss new projects in the Costa Tropical area.
It is hoped that the findings from the meeting will bring new technologies to the base industries in the Axarquia province, thus leading to better job prospects and economic improvements and stability.
“We are determined to take advantage of these capacities to develop knowledge-intensive sectors and we want to transfer it to the local authorities, because I think it is a great opportunity” said Lopez during the meeting.
The Mayoress of Motril highlighted the “knowledge potential” represented by the University of Granada, which is made available to companies, entrepreneurs and town councils along the coast of Axarquia.
