Reports are coming in of a head on collision that took place this morning (Tuesday) between a bus and a vehicle at kilometre 328 near Amposta on the AP-7 near Tarragona.
The incident occurred at 4.25am with the Catalan Traffic Service (SCT) reporting that the driver of the vehicle, believed to be a tourist, has been killed.
Nine of the bus passengers on the bus at the time of the accident have been injured, with most of them suffering only minor injuries. They have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Officers from the Mossos d’Esquadra closed the stretch of road for the morning whilst Generalitat Firefighters, four ambulances and the Psychological Support Service of the Emergency Medical System (SEM) worked on the scene.
They removed the vehicles and according to sources, the road was reopened at 12pm that afternoon.
