RESCUE teams have found the body of a 26-year-old man who jumped into a reservoir from a height of 30 metres (100 feet) and failed to resurface.
According to emergency services the incident occurred at the Entrepeñas reservoir dam in Sacedon (Guadalajara) at 2pm yesterday (July 28).
Guardia Civil divers (GEAS) and Civil Protection joined in the search, as did firefighters and medics. The body was found this morning.
Eyewitnesses say that the young man was accompanied by some friends, who witnessed the whole scene and recorded the jump with their mobile phones.
The Entrepeñas reservoir currently holds only 34.58 percent of its total capacity, with 281.04 hectometres, which makes the distance from the top of the dam to the water much more than usual.
