A formal complaint has been lodged after two donkeys were painted to look like zebras for a safari themed party at a chiringuito in El Palmar near Vejer de la Frontera last weekend.
The animals were brought to the beach area on Saturday morning for a Safari themed wedding where they were painted with black stripes and reportedly left in the full sun without adequate shade or water.
A local who saw the animals lodged the complaint to animal rights campaigners ‘Plataforma Madre Tierra’ who passed the information on to the OficinaComarcalAgraria (OCA) and Seprona who are investigating the matter further.
