Spain’s King Felipe and Queen Letizia attend annual royal ceremony with Britain’s Queen Elizabeth

BRITAIN’S Windsor Castle hosted the annual Order of the Garter ceremony today (Monday) which was attended by the Royal Family and Spain’s king and queen.

Hundreds of spectators watched as King Felipe, wearing the traditional blue robes of the order, joined senior British royals including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and the Duke of Cambridge for the procession.

The Spanish king was inducted into the Order during a state visit to Britain in July 2017.

The Order of the Garter is a group of people knighted and initiated into an order of chivalry dating back to the Middle Ages.

Former prime ministers including Sir John Major and ex-high ranking military personnel are among its members.
