ILLUMINATING the need to show awareness to help people at the risk of suicide, Estepona will have more than 200 people who will take part in raising money with a walk, starting at 5.30am in the morning of Saturday, May 11. It will end when the sun rises, representing “the light that gives hope to our lives.”
The meeting was presented yesterday by the Youth and Sports delegations councillor, Adrián Trujillo, and the representative of the ‘Pieta House’ organisation, Michael O’Holloran.
Trujillo, Mayor of Estepona, stated “it is a pleasure to support this cause again, as well as to collaborate with all kinds of non-profit associations whose objective is to help people with problems.”
The route will be of five kilometres, they will leave from the park located in Playa del Ángel, they will cross the coastal section of Punta de la Plata and will pass the maritime promenade.
This event is held globally in 19 countries, on five continents and around 160 cities participate.
O’Holloran explained that the registration period is open until May 10 and those interested can register online at the website of website of Darkness into Light, where they can also check the prices of the registration.
