THE SPOKESPERSON for Spain’s Met Office, Ruben del Campo, has stated that temperatures are due to be higher than average in most of the country except for the east tomorrow (May 1).
Temperatures are expected to reach 30º Celsius in most of the southern half of the country, however, cloudy skies are likely for some northern areas such as the Pyrenees, Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country. These locations may also receive some light rain.
Ruben del Campo also highlighted that some daytime clouds may be present in the interior of the peninsula and storms could reach the mountainous areas and some locations in Castilla y Leon, Castilla La-Mancha, Madrid, the interior of Cantabria and the north of Andalucia, though, in general, they will be “weak and not long-lasting”.
He also added that the strong eastern winds, also known as winds from Levante, will continue.
The weather prediction for Thursday is similar but there may be some light showers in the north of the Canary Islands and storms could arrive “almost anywhere” in the interior and mountainous areas of the peninsula.
