The huge beast had made a dash for freedom from an estate in Villalba and police tried to stop it reaching a populated area by placing vehicles in its path.
Five Guardia Civil patrols and specialists from the Seprona nature protection branch were called in to deal with the incident but the bull tossed the police vehicles aside before it was cornered.
Three cars were reported damaged before marksmen tranquilised the bull before it was taken back to the ranch in a lorry.
