Pensioners arrested for alleged sex crimes on underage girls in Murcia

THREE men aged 81, 79 and 61 have been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing underage girls in Murcia City.

The three have been charged with crimes of sexual abuse, harassment, sexual assault, corruption of minors, crimes against workers’ rights and exhibitionism. The National Police underage crimes unit for the Murcia Region investigated the allegations.

The victims were reportedly lured to the homes of the arrested men with promises of money and gifts. In the first case National Police learned that the home of the 81-year-old was visited by girls who entered alone.

Police officers were able to identify the children, who told them that they had been persuaded to go to his house to do household chores and to help him wash in exchange for money.

But in reality, the true purpose was to satisfy his sexual urges. Once in the house he allegedly touched the girls (sexual abuse) and on several occasions attempted to go further (attempted sexual assault).

Police proceeded to arrest the octogenarian and searched his home, finding a diary with the names and telephone numbers of several underage girls.

Another of the detainees had contacted the girls and asked them to accompany him to his home with the promise of gifts.

The girls went to his front door, but refused to enter, at which point he tried to kiss and touch them.

The girls later arranged to meet the third man who would promise money, gifts or invite them to eat before taking them in his car to an isolated spot where he would sexually assault them.
