AN online petition to revoke Article 50 and cancel Brexit has soared past the 5,000,000 mark this afternoon (Sunday).

It has become the most popular online protest in history with an estimated 2,000 people signing it every minute.

Margaret Georgiadou, who set up the petition, has revealed she has received death threats.

Writing on Twitter she said: “I had three telephoned death threats. Who wants Brexit so much that they are prepared to kill for it?”

Today she added: “Heartfelt thanks to all who sent messages of support and friendship. You the voters are the real heroes. I’m just a latter-day Bilbo Baggins, looking for one or three Gandalfs.”

“Every individual can be a hero; each person has tremendous power for good – use it fearlessly!

“March on, march on, With hope in your hearts, And you’ll never walk alone. May the force be with you all! xxxxx”

The five million petition milestone comes less than a day after an estimated one million people took to the streets of London to protest yesterday.”

Today prime minister Theresa May is reportedly gathering a group of senior Conservatives at Chequers for crisis talks amid cabinet coup rumours.
