WHY would the owner of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, surely the pinnacle of luxury motoring, invest in a new BMW 8 Series?

Perhaps to signal that the parent of the Rolls-Royce Motor Car band is itself moving further upmarket. More refined, yet more luxurious, yet more sparkling. So perhaps the return of the flagship, the grand touring coupe that is the 8 Series may be as much about the future of the BMW brand as about the Series itself.

A pallet ofoptional features create opportunities for further personalisation by the owners of the limited series of the M850i xDriveCoupe, limited to 400 examples.The M850i xDrive Coupe is a fast car with a V8 engine eight speed automatic gearbox with handling and a suspension intended to place it in the same space as an AMG or Aston Martin DB11. The M850i xDrive is placed as a continent crossing Grand Touring coupe

The interior of the M850i xDrive Coupe sees a full leather trim in Merino with a colour combination of Ivory White and Night Blue. M leather covered steering wheel as well as an Alcantara roof liner each finished in the colour Night Blue. Interior trim strips in Black Piano finish located in the centre of the cockpit with the lettering “First Edition 1/400”. The sound system by Bowers &Wilkins, the Crafted Clarity glass applications on the start/stop button together with the iDrive Controller, volume control and illuminated gearshift lever establish the luxurious interior environment. It looks like a very rich and luxurious space.
