A MAN has drowned whilst trying to rescue his dogs from drowning in a pond in Huesca, northeast Spain.
Police found the 64-year-old’s body and those of several dead dogs floating in the water in rural Ripoll after the alarm was raised when the hunter did not return home.
Members of the Guardia Civil also found a high visibility jacket and shotgun near the man’s body.
Officers believe the man either fell into the pond while trying to help his animals- who are believed to have access the site through a hole in the fence- or go into the water voluntarily to try to help them to shore.
