Man arrested in Spain for assaulting and infecting his 19-month-old baby with sexually transmitted disease

NATIONAL POLICE in Spain have arrested a 40-year-old man for sexually assaulting and transmitting papillomavirus (HPV) to his 19-month-old son.
The father was arrested in La Linea de la Concepción, Cadiz after the 19-month-old baby underwent a routine consultation with a paediatrician.
Medical staff noticed suspicious injuries and signs of infection upon a sensitive region of the baby’s body and a protocol was launched to the potential sexual assault of the child.
The National Police took charge of the investigation and blood tests soon revealed that the father was a carrier of papillomavirus (HPV) and had transmitted the illness to his 19-month-old son.
Spanish media allege the father has a history of violence and is now in prison following his arrest.
It is alleged that the mother had no idea about the abuse her baby had suffered.
