WATCH: Dramatic helicopter rescue of Brit expat as flash floods devastate valley in Spain

A BRITISH expat was winched to safety in the south of Spain this afternoon after she became trapped in her home by fast-rising flood waters in Andalucia.


The dramatic rescue by a Guardia Civil helicopter was captured on video by police as the woman was rescued from her home alongside the Guadiaro river in the railway station neighbourhood of Cortes de la Frontera.
Upstream 20 people were rescued by firefighters, police, town hall workers and volunteers in Jimera de Libar before the two rescue helicopters arrived on the scene.

There are currently no reports of injuries but damage to property and vehicles is extensive after torrential rain lashed the valley which was on a RED ALERT for severe weather.
Horrifying videos were also captured in the Ronda – normally known as the City of Dreams, as water cascaded in huge torrents through its famous gorge.
