WATCH: ‘Looking a lot like Christmas’ as snow falls in south of Spain

THE Sierra Nevada ski resort has received a fresh dusting of snow ahead of its opening for the winter season.
Yesterday the most southerly ski station in Europe tweeted a video with the tag ‘It looks like Christmas.’
The Sierra Nevada is in the province of Granada in Andalucia and the skiing season can last from late November until early May.
The resort is situated just 27 km (17 miles) from the city of Granada. It is also less than 100 km (60 miles) from Motril, on the Costa Tropical, which means skiing and swimming on the same day is an option.
The highest summit of the Sierra Nevada range is Mulhacén at 3,481 m (11,421 ft), the highest ski lift and piste goes to just below Veleta, which is at 3,398 m (11,148 ft).
There are a total of 128 runs with 19 green (very easy), 43 blue (easy), 52 red (difficult) and seven black (very difficult).
Snowboard and ski teachers number 400 across 15 ski schools.
