A JOINT appeal by police in Scotland and Spain has been issued to locate a British man, Alan Jeffrey,  who has been missing for more than four months.
Twenty-five-year-old Alan Jeffrey from Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, Scotland disappeared after he was last seen on the Canary Island of Tenerife by his girlfriend on June 10.
She said Alan failed to return to their apartment after he told her he was going to stay out with friends.
Mr Jeffrey has not been in contact with any members of his family since that date.
He was officially reported missing to the police on June 26.
Officers understand it is very out of character for Mr  Jeffrey to be out of touch with his family and police fear that he could ‘have come to harm.’
Alan Jeffrey is described as 5ft 10in tall, has brown hair and is strongly built.
Inspector Keith Campbell of Police Scotland, a leading member in the collective search for Alan Jeffrey, has stated: “A number of officers have been working on this inquiry for some time, however it has been challenging as we haven’t received much information so far, and this is why we are now appealing to the public for their help.”
“Given the passage of time and with some of the information we have received, we cannot rule out that some harm may have come to Alan.”
Police added Mr Jeffrey had mentioned previously his intentions to travel Marbella on the Costa del Sol.
Inspector Campbell concluded: “If Alan himself is reading this appeal, please get in touch with your family as they are very concerned.
“I would ask anyone who may have information in relation to this enquiry to contact police via 101.”
