A BRITISH man reportedly broadcast the taking of his own life in Spain on a social network site. According to Spanish press reports, the 35-year-old hanged himself live on Instagram, on September 1, with the details only being released this week. It has been claimed a woman called the Guardia Civil in Murcia and reported that she could see footage of her ex-partner taking his own life, in real-time. She said she had no idea where he was filming from, and feared nobody would be able to reach him in time to save his life. Guardia Civil and Local Police officers rushed to the man’s home, where it is claimed they were too late to prevent the suicide, and could only turn off his mobile phone so as to put an end to the broadcast. According to newspaper reports, the man took his own life straight after he had called his ex-girlfriend to confront her about posting images of herself naked on social networks. He then apparently switched his camera to record images of his own death, which were said to have been viewed by family and friends, who are believed to have also contacted the police.
