The new Messi? Cristobal Muñoz
REMEMBER the name: Cristobal Muñoz.
The Barcelona number 10 – just 12 when he signed for their youth team in March – has scored an eye-catching hat-trick in a youth tournament, sparking further comparisons with another Barcelona number 10.
Five-time world player of the year Lionel Messi was also a prolific goalscorer in Barca’s youth set up.
Playing for Barca’s U-14 side in a La Liga Promises tournament in Tenerife, Munoz scored a hat-trick against Roma to take his side into the quarter-finals.
His third, Messi-esque, goal was particularly impressive, as he silkily evaded three challenges before slotting the ball into the bottom left corner.
Here’s the goal again in full:

Munoz is a versatile winger who has been dubbed the hottest prospect in Spanish football.
Athletico, PSG or Juventus await Munoz and his teammates in the next round.
