Lionesses feel the pain as they train in Spain

The FA

ENGLAND women’s national football squad have returned to the UK after completing their preparations for Euro 2017 with a month-long training camp in Spain.

The Lionesses have endured a month of intense training and gym sessions in order to satisfy head coach Mark Sampson’s aim of his side being the fittest and strongest team at the tournament.

Chelsea midfielder  Millie Bright said: “If there’s a fitter team at the Euros, I want to know what they’ve been doing.”

The squad will fly to the Netherlands, the Euro hosts, on Thursday with their first group match against Scotland on Wednesday 19 July, followed by Spain on Saturday 23 July and Portugal four days later.
