Escaped murderer recaptured by Guardia Civil in Castellon

A CONVICTED killer who had escaped from a Barcelona jail was tracked down to a property in Vinaroz (Castellon) by officers of the Guardia Civil.

After reconnoitring the area, officers moved in and arrested the 38-year-old Spaniard, discovering a veritable arsenal in the property.

Whilst the man was immediately sent back to prison, a search uncovered a Kalashnikov AK47, two pistols, ammunition, three bows with arrows, a machete, false documents, walkie talkies and handcuffs.

The fugitive will have to serve his existing sentence and will be charged additionally with illegal possession of the weapons and having fake identification.
