A WOMAN has been held for attempted murder in Malaga following a bloody knife fight near the El Corte Ingles.
A policeman was on his way home when he heard screams of pain coming from Calle Alzonia. Upon arrival he found two women fighting each other, with one woman wielding a kitchen knife.
The off-duty officer proceeded to disarm and detain the 35-year-old woman and called for an ambulance to provide medical attention to the other woman, around 50, who had sustained four stab wounds.
While they waited for police backup and the ambulance to arrive the victim allegedly tried to assault her assailant several times.
According to the agent, the fight had broken out over a financial dispute between the two.
Both women were taken to hospital following the incident.
