Wildfire risk in southern Spain as heat wave continues

AFTER a raft of orange weather alerts were announced across Spain, AEMET has warned that temperatures could soar as high as 42 degrees Celsius during a second blast of heat this weekend.

Due to the dramatic rise in temperatures the south will suffer an increased wildfire risk over the next few days. Orange alerts have now been issued in a total of 15 provinces, with sunbathers warned to drink plenty of water and avoid the sun between the peak hours of 12-5pm.

However it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, as heavy storms are set to hit parts of Granada province over the course of the weekend.
