A PROCESSION rehearsal video in Marbella has sparked fierce criticism for carrying an idol of the Catholic Church to the beat of a reggaeton song.
La Hermandad del Cautivo y Santa Marta was bombarded with angry comments after footage of the rehearsal was uploaded onto social media sites, labelling it a “disgrace” and that they “should be ashamed.”
The head of the brotherhood, Francisco Botello, told news outlets it was a “joke that took place after official rehearsals.
“However after the feedback we received, we thought it’d be best to take the video down.”
He also said it was a “shame” that people did not pay as much attention to the rest of the rehearsals which were also posted online.
@CarlosStinson95 said “the Cautivo de Marbella should be ashamed.”

@TheVisuales however saw the lighter side, and said “I prefer this march.”
