Miss Motown returns to JoysLive

Janet Jaye

Janet Jaye as Miss Motown

FOLLOWING her highly acclaimed visit to JoysLive in October last year, UK based soul singer extraordinaire Janet Jaye aka Miss Motown will be appearing at the primo nightclub in Puerto Banus from March 3 to 13.

Like many quality soul singers, Janet started at a young age in her local church singing gospel songs but then she became a backing vocalist for Ruby Turner who performed with Culture Club before becoming a hit singer in her own right, scoring a number one hit in the USA with It’s Gonna Be Alright.

Having toured throughout Europe and the UK with Ruby Turner and the Motown Songbook review which included an appearance with the legendary Chuck Berry, Janet was spotted by a modelling agency and spent several years gracing cat walks and photo shoots as well as passing the LAMDA examination before she was asked if she would perform a Whitney Houston tribute show which actually lasted for two years taking her around Europe.

Following this experience, Janet won a song contest and formed her own Jazz Funk band which gigged in many prestigious spots including Ronnie Scott’s in Birmingham before she decided once again to follow the solo road which sees her back in Spain at JoysLive.

This famous nightspot in Banus doesn’t start rocking until about 11pm but then keeps going with a host of incredibly talented musicians until the early hours and Janet Jaye will be adding her own brand of soul and funk before an appreciative audience.

Her special Motown and Tina Turner tribute show will be presented at Alberts Bar and Grill in Cabopino on March 9, followed by an afternoon of jazz and soul on March 19 (www.alberts-cabopino.com) and then on St Patrick’s Day Thursday March 17 she will return as Tina Turner at Cibo Italiano on the Golden Mille, Marbella (www.cibomarbella.com).
