Spaniard involved in drug arrest at Gibraltar Airport

A SPANISH national was arrested by HM Customs at the Gibraltar International Airport on February 24 after security staff conducting routine checks on outbound passengers at the Central Search Facilities suspected him of carrying drugs.

The individual was found to have what appeared to be drugs pellets strapped around his body with elastic bandages. Customs officers were subsequently alerted and a full body search was conducted revealing that he was carrying approximately three kilograms of cannabis resin.

The individual, a Spanish National from Seville who was arrested and remanded in custody overnight was charged with possession, importation and exportation with intent to supply and appeared at the Magistrates Court the following day.
