Fastighetsbyrån estate agents in Almeria

A SWEDISH AFFAIR: Celebrating Lucia Day.

SWEDEN is renowned for the friendliness of its people and Swedish estate agents Fastighetsbyrån, who are based in Mojacar, gave a taste of their hospitality on December 13.

The mother and daughter partnership who run a franchise of Sweden’s largest estate agency business invited clients, friends and local businesses to their offices to celebrate Lucia Day (the Festival of Light) and enjoy a selection of typical food and drinks.

St Lucia was a young girl who was martyred for her Christian faith in 304 and tradition says that on December 13 she took food to hidden Christians in Rome and wore a crown of candles in her hair so that she had both hands free to carry the food.

Now, in present day Sweden, young girls dress in white and carry candles in memory of the martyr and in the case of Fastighetsbyrån all of the guests were treated to Glogg (a mulled wine served with raisins and almonds), Pepparkor with blue cheese, Lussekatter saffransbröd (Saffron Buns) and Swedish spice cake (Mjuk Pepparkaka) lovingly crafted by Gina from the agency.

The entire family was dressed especially for the occasion and mother Ingrid Grahn, who is most proficient in Spanish and daughter Gabriela, who is the English language expert together with Ingrid’s husband and other staff members, enjoyed telling all of the non-Swedish guests about Swedish Christmas traditions.

This company is a trailblazer as it has been set up as a special franchise of the Swedish-based estate agency which is itself owned by Swedbank, the biggest bank in Sweden, for which both Ingrid and Gabriela worked in the past so they fully understand the procedures of the Swedish operations.

Many Swedish individuals are considering buying second homes in Spain and Fastighetsbyrån which covers the whole of the Almeria region, is ideally placed to put buyers and sellers together no matter their nationalities.

For an efficient, friendly and helpful service, visit their office at Calle Duende 1, Parque Comercial, pl 2, local 91 Mojacar Playa which is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 2.30pm and then 5pm to 7pm for coffee and advice, visit http://utland.fastighetsbyran.se/en/almeria/ or send an email to almeria@fastighetsbyran.se.
