A whole new meaning to biting your nails

IT may have an strong online following, but we’re not sure the latest beauty trend will catch on; edible nails. 

A nail artist from New Zealand has created edible nail art with the videos viewed on Instagram 57,000 times on the account ‘Nailed It NZ.’

They come complete with white, milk or dark chocolate and some are decorated with icing and silver balls to create the looks. 

The inspiration came from another nail trend this year which involves applying more than 100 coats of nail polish to create a hard lump on each nail.

Whilst some love the edible art, an on the go snack treat, others have criticised it and questioned the hygiene surrounding eating chocolate off your nails.
