The former Mayor of Gibraltar, well-known character and estate agent, Solomon (Momy) Levy sadly passed away today December 22 at St Bernard’s Hospital at the age of 80.
Still active and proud Chairman of the Gibraltar Branch of the Royal British Legion, he will not only be remembered with affection in Gibraltar but also in the United Kingdom where he was known through his highly spirited appearances in the Channel 5 documentary Britain in the Sun.

Married to Ophelia in Gibraltar in 1978, John has spent much of his life travelling on security print and minting business and visited every continent except Antarctica. Having retired several years ago, the couple moved to their house in Estepona and John became a regular news writer for the EWN Media Group taking particular interest in Finance, Gibraltar and Costa del Sol Social Scene.
