Celebs converge on Marbs for Global Gift golf weekend

RONAN KEATING: A keen golfer and charity campaigner.

PHILANTHROPIC foundation Global Gift, headed by Malaga-born actress and ex-Antonio Banderas squeeze, Maria Bravo, plus Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, is to host another star-studded charity event in Marbella this weekend.

The Global Gift Solidarity Challenge follows the success of the organisation’s flagship gala in July, which raised thousands of euros and generated a public impact equivalent to a €10 million marketing campaign, according to media partners.

A VIP cocktail party gala dinner will be held at La Sala Banus on Friday, October 14, with the third Global Gift Golf Tournament at the Estepona Golf Club to be followed by a gala dinner at the Gran Melia Don Pepe luxury hotel on Saturday 15. All funds will be donated to the Cudeca, Global Gift, and Marie Keating foundations.

The latter provides aid for female cancer sufferers, and was founded in memory of Boyzone superstar Ronan Keating’s mother, who died of breast cancer in 1998.

Ronan himself will be on hand to perform a special acoustic concert during the gala dinner, which will be attended by other British celebs, including TV presenter Vernon Kay, actor James Nesbitt, singer Alesha Dixon, model Jodie Kidd, and rugby player Thom Evans.

Standard tickets for the dinner are priced at €200, with the golf costing €140, while a ‘platinum pack’ comprising both events is available for groups of four at €300 per person.

A special ‘VIP pack’ is also available for a cool €1,000, which includes tickets for both events and a celebrity partner for the duration of the 18-hole golf competition.
