Alameda Gardens Bicentenary House.
FOR the first time, the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition (IGPOTY) will allow Gibraltarian photographers to compete for one of the five awards which are given in respect of best European gardens photographs.
For the 2017 competition, in recognition of the Bicentenary of the Alameda Botanic Gardens, a new award, Green Gibraltar will be offered with the intention of highlighting the diversity of the Gardens and bringing it to the world’s attention, broaden public understanding of nature in Gibraltar and showcase the botanical beauty of The Rock.
The winners of the special award will go on to form part of the IGPOTY exhibition at the Alameda from April 2017 and winning photographs will be featured in the new IGPOTY 10 hardback book.
Deadline for entry is October 31 2016 and winners of all five categories including European Garden of the Year and best of Kew Gardens will be announced in February 2017.
