Mechanic dies at work from injuries

A WORKER was killed after being hit by a truck on the industrial estate Son Castello in Palma. The mechanic, aged 45, was working in one of the industrial units when he was hit and run over by a heavy vehicle. The victim was crushed and died instantly from his injuries.

National Police and the Labour Inspectorate have launched an investigation to try and clarify the circumstances surrounding the accident but it is believed that a trucker moved the vehicle without seeing the mechanic. He was the second person to die from a work accident in Palma within a week as another man, aged 35, was killed after being hit by a truck.
