Bale completes remarkable summer by getting engaged

REAL MADRID and Wales superstar Gareth Bale has finally got the monkey off his back, as he interrupted his tree-swinging, banana-chomping lifestyle to announce his engagement to long-term partner and mother of his two daughters, Emma Rhys-Jones.

The young family decided to celebrate by jetting off to Ibiza for a few days of paparazzi-infused relaxation, as the Welsh wizard continued his recuperation after a long season which culminated in his beloved Dragons unexpectedly reaching the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

Birthday-boy Gareth made his betrothal public via the well-trodden celebrity medium of social media on Sunday, July 17, as an image of the pair circulated alongside his message: “She said yes!! This is a birthday weekend I won’t forget for a long time. Celebrated with all our closest family and friends.”

The Cardiff-born pair are childhood sweethearts, having been together since they met at Whitchurch High School, and their first child Alba Violet was born in the Welsh capital in 2012, followed by Nava Valentina in March this year.

The announcement caps a memorable summer for the 27-year-old Galactico, who will soon return to training ahead of the new La Liga season.
