The aircraft on the runway after making an emergency landing.
JET2 flight 189 which was due to travel from Glasgow to Palma de Mallorca declared an emergency shortly after take-off on the morning of July 7 and after circling for a short period of time returned to Glasgow.
The Boeing 737-800 made a successful emergency landing just after 9.30am without apparent difficulty although fire tenders were in place in case of problems and the runway was closed to other traffic.
According to reports, it appears that the aircraft had problems with its pitch control which meant that it could not guarantee the ability to fly on an ‘even keel.’
