Mother drowns at Costa Brava resort while on holiday with children

A SCOTTISH mother of three has drowned while enjoying holidays in Spain with her family.

Jennifer McKenzie from Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire was one week into a break with husband David and their three children in the Costa Brava’s Santa Susana resort, 35 miles south of Barcelona.

Details as to how she drowned are as yet unclear but the 34-year-old was confirmed to have died at the resort on Wednesday.

Friends and family have taken to social media to pay tribute to the young mother who was a social sciences student at the North East Scotland College in Fraserburgh, and hoped to embark on a career in child care.

Her husband David confirmed her death online, saying it was with a ‘heavy heart’ he had to tell friends about the death of his ‘beautiful wife’.
