MULTICULTURAL FLAVOUR: A dancer enjoys the party in 2015.
THE 22nd Feria de los Pueblos (World People’s Fair) takes place at the Fuengirola showground from Thursday April 28 to Monday May 2, offering visitors a colourful opportunity to experience the diversity of food, folklore and other traditions from around the world.
A total of 33 countries and Spanish regions will participate, with this year’s international debutants including Italy, Paraguay, Senegal and Chile, while Navarra, Castilla-Leon and the Canary Islands comprise national newcomers.
The cultural melting pot will feature dozens of marquees, childrens’ attractions, an international trade fair, exhibitions, live music and dance performances, while there will be a spectacular parade through the town centre on Saturday April 30.
The event is a tribute to the multicultural flavour that pervades Fuengirola life, where 131 nationalities rub shoulders in an area of 10sq kilometres, and last year attracted 1.5 million revellers.
