Violence suspected in woman’s death

A WOMAN died in Benidorm on Tuesday (April 12) and her partner has been arrested as the main suspect, the National Police force has reported.

Officers were sent to a home on Calle de Las Flores after the deceased’s daughter phoned the police station at 1pm and upon arrival they reported finding the woman dead on a bed and her partner next to her in a seemingly drugged state.

After arresting him for allegedly stabbing the woman to death, the man was taken to Hospital Marina Baixa for treatment for a minor knife wound. 

However investigations will continue as the body presented just one knife wound.

The Benidorm police have stated that the arrestee had been reported by the deceased for abuse in December 2014, but he was absolved and they continued to live together.
