Better facilities, better categories

STATUS: Has been upgraded.

FOUR Benidorm hotels belonging to the Servigroup chain have recently been awarded higher categories following extensive improvements, the company has announced.

The chain reinvests a large part of its annual takings to carry out works and improve its facilities to provide its customers with more comfortable accommodation, and this is rewarded by category increases and awards which it receives each year from tour operators, who give the hotels high points due to the level of satisfaction reported by their customers.

This year, as the hotels already met most of the regulations required by law, most of the money was spent on improvements.

Four stars is the new ranking for the Hotel Servigroup Nereo, which has had its status upgraded from three stars after extending and installing new furnishings in the bar, adding sliding glass doors to the bar-lounge, disabled bathrooms in the reception and common areas and other minor works.

The Diplomatic saw all the bathrooms renovated, bedspreads were replaced and the neon sign on the outside changed, resulting in it going up to a superior four-star category from its previous plain four stars.

Meanwhile the Calypso and Venus hotels both increased from three plain stars to superior three stars.

The Calypso was also the proud recipient of a new neon sign, had a disabled bathroom built in the common areas and received new cafeteria furniture, while the Venus now boasts new furniture in the Dracma cafeteria, an improved fountain at its entrance and a new giant LED screen on the terrace. Plans for the near future for the Venus also include renovations to the lounge by the ground floor restaurant.
