Benitachell residents to have a voice

BENITACHELL has created a Residents’ Committee to deliberate and transmit town hall information.

“It is important to have an official committee that gives residents a voice and is also their link to the town hall,” said Dirk Rheindorf who heads the municipality’s Residents department. There will be periodic meetings with the town hall, with the next scheduled for February.

The committee will be of special help for Benitachell’s large population of foreign residents, Rheindorf pointed out.

The committee is composed of representatives of all nationalities from different neighbourhoods. “The Residents’ department considers it vitally important to encourage citizens’ participation with an official and authorised committee,” said Rheindorf.  “It will improve harmonious relations and the quality of services,” he added.
