SOME Axarquia town councils, particularly smaller inland ones, have asked the Junta de Andalucia regional government to increase their water resources. Izquierda Unida (IU) Representative and mayor of Almachar Jose Gamez has argued that the lack of water allocated to some municipalities is impeding their urban development.
