British guitarist in La Herradura

CHRIS TRUEMAN: Joined in the competition by players from all over the world.

BRITISH guitarist Chris Trueman was one of the first to play on Tuesday at the Andres Segovia International Classical Guitar Competition, which is running until Saturday November 28 at La Herradura’s Centro Civico.

Players have come from all over the world for the prestigious competition, which on days one and two (Tuesday 24 and Wednesday November 25) saw Trueman perform in round one along with Taiki Matsumoto and Masata Suganuma from Japan, Marko Topchii from Ukraine, Jaka Klum from Slovenia, Guilia Ballare from Italy, Ali Arango from Cuba and Josue Arody Garcia Garcia and Javier Garcia Verduga from Spain.

At the time of going to press it remained to be seen who would go through to the second round and be in with a chance to win €10,000, a special guitar by Aaron Garcia Ruiz valued at €5,200 and the chance to perform at the 2016 Granada International Music and Dance Festival.
