SOUFIANE MEZROUI is a 23-year-old Belgian with suspected links to terrorism and police believe has come from Syria to Spain.
Mezroui is thought to be have been involved in the military conflict in Syria and police say he has links to the Jabhat al-Nusra, the Salafist jihadist group.
A European arrest warrant was issued for Mezroui in April 2013, after he was given a five-year sentence in absentia in a Belgian court for having terrorist links.
Police have said that ‘his presence in Spain could pose a threat to national security,’ however they have not confirmed if he had any connection with the Paris attacks.
The Guardia Civil have released the suspect´s photo and confirmed that he is from Kapelle near the Belgian city of Antwerp.
