A MARBELLA postman may face four years in jail for allegedly failing to deliver post for six months and taking it home to burn it instead.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has requested the jail sentence, along with a €14,400 fine and a six-year ban from civil service posts to be delivered at the hearing, which is due to be held at Malaga Provincial Court.
The accused, the prosecutor claims, took post home instead of delivering it between August 2013 and January 2014 and was caught burning letters at his home at 6.30pm on January 24 2014. Although 3,583 letters were recovered, there was no way to determine how many had already been burned.
