Hamilton wins in Russia
LEWIS Hamilton is a step closer to his third world championship after a win in the Russian Grand Prix on Sunday October 11.
Sebastian Vettel placed second for Ferrari and Sergio Perez came in third for Force India.
Hamilton has now amassed nine wins this season, which leaves the Mercedes driver needing just nine more points than Vettel, and two more than his Mercedes team mate Nico Rosberg to take the championship.
The race saw a high speed crash in the long Turn Three involving Romain Grosjean of Lotus.
This victory virtually secures a second consecutive constructors title for Mercedes as the team has only lost six of the thirty four races since the start of the season in 2014. Proving that Mercedes continue their dominance over the turbo hybrid engine as Hamilton celebrates today in Russia.
