Casino to remove controversial facade

ALICANTE Casino is to remove its controversial facade by the end of the year. Owner Jesus Alamo, said it will be replaced by a simpler design and will be “adapted more to the environment” having less impact on the entrance to the marina area of the city.

There were often complaints about the bright and bold design that was not in keeping with the style of the area and when asked about the reasons that led to its installation, the casino manager said: “It was chosen by business circumstances that are difficult to explain.”

Mayor Gabriel Echavarri has also called for the carousel to be removed.
