The joy of hearing

OPTICA LAZA can transform your everyday life

AS we age, our ears are exposed to a lifetime of noises such as lawnmowers, telephones, industrial machinery and noise, recorded and live music.

Many of these sounds occur at loud and potentially injurious levels. Although some people are born with hearing loss, most acquire hearing loss later in life.

Listening activities such as television, talking on the phone or holding a conversation can be very uncomfortable for hearing impaired or users of hearing aids.

At Optica Laza we can offer you different communication systems, consisting of products that can make your day more comfortable and make it possible to live a more independent life with or without hearing aids. Amplified telephones:

An amplified telephone is a regular phone, with a built-in extra-powerful amplifier that makes it easier for the hearing impaired to hear and be heard.

Wireless headset for TV and Hi-Fi systems: A wireless Hi-Fi speaker with adjustable tone control enhances dialogue clarity to suit your hearing.

Automatic volume control eliminates sudden loud noises and commercials.

RC-DEX

The RC-DEX is a small (small enough to fit on a keychain) hearing aid remote control. It gives you better control of basic hearing aid features like volume control and switching programmes. It looks good and you won’t have to touch your hearing aids to adjust them.

TV-DEX

A user-friendly wireless assistive listening device specifically designed for enjoying TV and audio. The main advantage of the TV-DEX is its real-time high-quality stereo sound without distortion – or more importantly – echoes.

M-DEX

The M-DEX is a user-friendly and stylish wireless assistive listening device you can use with your mobile phone. Compatible with most mobile phones, the M-DEX reproduces phone conversations directly in the hearing aid. A unique feature of the M-DEX is what we call ‘Room Off’.

This turns the hearing aids’ microphones off temporarily so you can only hear your mobile – allowing you to concentrate on the conversation without being disturbed by surrounding sounds. Thanks to current Widex tecnology, 90 per cent of cases of hearing loss can be easily solved, but early detection is vital.

According to recent estimations by the World Health Organisation (WHO), more than 5 per cent of the world’s population (360 million people) live with some sort of hearing problem. And in the over-65s this increases to one in three people.

At Optica Laza our audiologists will be happy to give you more information about our communications products and the assistive hearing devices from Widex. To make an appointment for a hearing test in one of our three specialised hearing centres, in La Cala de Mijas, Fuengirola and Calahonda, please call our customer service at 951 261 120.
