AS of last week, Calvia’s Local Police force has a new chief, Justino Trenas; an experienced officer who now faces the challenge of reorganising the force and meeting expectations to create a better force that is closer to the community.
Trenas’s promotion puts an end to a difficult period, said local Mayor, Alfonso Rodriguez Badal, during which Jose Luis Rubiales and Antonio Pascual did an excellent job of holding the force together following last year’s arrest of former chief Jose Antonio Navarro for alleged involvement in a corruption case which is still under investigation.
