A MAN has been jailed for four and a half years and fined €36,000 for a crime against public health after receiving a package containing 307 grams of cocaine concealed amongst rosaries and holy water.
The package, sent from Costa Rica to an address in Benalmadena, made customs officers in Madrid suspicious leading to surveillance, and the man, who did not figure as the receiver on the package but presented a forged authorisation and fake ID at the post office, was arrested in June 2010.
When the box was opened it was found to contain rosaries, pictures and a bottle of holy water but the drugs were found concealed in the sides.
