ARROYO DE LA MIEL’S public library has been awarded the Liber 2015 prize for the best public library projects to encourage Reading from FGEE Editors Federation.

The library, with around 22,000 members in a town with 67,000 inhabitants, was chosen for the prize thanks to its broad range of activities, the federation announced, which include reading clubs, conferences, book lending, exhibitions, workshops, story-telling, guided visits and a charity market and also to acknowledge its constant work to improve collections.

The library, which opened in 2002 and was chosen in 2013 by local residents as the best municipal service in the town, will receive its prize at an award ceremony on October 8 during Madrid’s International Book Fair.
