A MALAGA Provincial Court has jailed a man for three years and one day for a crime against public health for selling drugs from his wheelchair.

The man, who was also fined €600 and relieved of the drugs and cash he was carrying upon his arrest, was caught by National Police officers on patrol who saw him selling something to another man in January 2012.

After searching the wheelchair the officers found a bottle containing 75 small packets of cocaine worth an estimated €508 on the black market.

Although during the trial the accused denied having carried or sold drugs and the purchaser described another person, the statements given by the officers, who said they had had a perfect view of the transaction, and the bottle of drugs were considered sufficient proof by the judge.
